Diving New Zealand
- General
information on scuba diving vacations in New Zealand.
New Zealand diving
offers conditions not found anywhere else in the world, with
fish-life very much different from anything found in the warmer
climates of the world.
Summer is by far the
best time to dive New Zealand waters, given the much warmer
conditions, and a proliferation of fish-life.
One of the most well
known and significant
New Zealand diving sites is the Poor Knight Islands. These
Islands are located off the east coast of the north island, slightly
to the north of Tutukaka. The area is known world-wide for
it's natural underwater beauty, and many documentaries have been
shot at this location.
The Poor Knights also
offers two very good wreck dives - including the Tui, which was a
New Zealand navel vessel which was scuttled, and now serves as a
made-made reef for the fish.
Tutukaka also offers
some fabulous facilities, from world class restaurants and
accommodation, to game fishing charters.
Diving New Zealand
is an unforgettable experience, and something every budding diver
must experience.
